Whatuni Student Choice Awards, UK
The Whatuni Student Choice Awards, with winners chosen by students themselves, returned in April 2023. Nottingham Trent University was crowned University of the Year, with University College Birmingham, last year’s overall winner, taking home the International Award. BC Future of English, London
The British Council released its Future of English: Global Perspectives research at an event in London on April 26. Colleagues from across the English language sector joined to launch a multimedia exhibition at the British Council’s headquarters.

The Acumen Global Gateway Summit welcomed ambassadors, government and university representatives, university leaders in April. The two-day event featured panels and a Gala reception to celebrate 15 years of Acumen.
NZ-India Education Week, India
Educa on New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao led a delegation of university leaders on a recent trip to India, joined by VCs, regional managers and in-country representatives. The group met with India’s University Grants Commission, IIT Delhi leaders and more.

The Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration held a special event in Boston on Friday, for leaders to discuss the role of HE in “facilitating immigration pathways, developing talent and potential, and reducing barriers to integration and naturalisation.”

The PIE and Duolingo English Test, Leeds
On April 17, Duolingo English Test and The PIE teamed up to bring a free event to the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds, where a panel discussed the current trends in English testing in international student recruitment and guests were invited to a networking drinks reception.
